Larry’s Best Night of Sleep in Years

November 7, 2008

This was the night before Larry’s big job interview. The pressure to sleep well was compounded by a second, more pressing issue. Earlier that evening, his beloved dog of 14 years, had disappeared into the dense mountain forest surrounding their farm. Larry’s dog Sammy was blind and  had little strength and motor control in his body.  Sammy needed  supervision while outside, because he easily got confused and wondered off. This night however, Larry was distracted with other things and forgot to keep an eye on Sammy. By the time Larry went to bring Sammy inside, Sammy was no where to be found.

Racked with guilt and worry, it was looking like Larry would be up, suffering all night. His wife Bonnie, informed me of the situation and asked me to help him. Without Larry’s knowledge or conscious participation, I tapped for him.

I began by addressing and releasing his overwhelming feelings and self-condemning thoughts of guilt and worry. Then I helped him give himself permission to make peace with Sammy’s situation and to consider allowing himself to sleep. Using my SRH, I locked in acceptance, peace, and relaxation.

Next day, Larry awoke refreshed, Sammy was found, and Larry aced his interview. Bonnie told Larry what I had done and Larry, who, up to the previous night had been a skeptic, called me to thank me for helping him. He said it was the best night of sleep he’d had in years.

EFT is energy work. There is no separation of distance in the energy field. Larry was over 2 hours away from me.
